What happens to what you upload

Last updated 22 September 2026. LaneBatch is operated by Dario Verghi, trading as LeanAI Studio. Questions go to dario@leanaistudio.com.

Invited trials

A trial invitation is an access credential. After activation, an essential HttpOnly cookie stores the signed trial ID and expiry, without your email or uploaded file contents. The cookie expires with the invitation, at most seven days after issuance. End the trial in the tool to remove it from this browser. The operator can revoke an invitation; revocation takes effect when the updated deployment is active. A trial does not create a subscription or a payment.

Your lane sheet

When you price a sheet, the file is uploaded to the LaneBatch server, parsed and priced in the memory of a single request, and the result is returned to your browser. The file is not written to a database, to object storage or to a queue, and it is not used to train anything. When the request ends, the copy on the server is gone.

One copy does persist, and it is in your own browser: so that a checkout does not make you upload the same sheet twice, the file is held in your browser's IndexedDB storage under the name lanebatch while you complete payment. It never leaves your device by that route, and clearing your browser data removes it.

Who else receives anything

  • Vercel

Hosts the site and runs the pricing function. Your upload passes through Vercel's infrastructure because that is where the code runs. Vercel Analytics records page views without cookies and without identifying you. Its tag is withheld on exactly the same terms as the other two: with no answer recorded, or after Decline, the tag is not placed at all rather than placed and told to behave.

  • Stripe

Handles checkout and billing, and receives your email address and payment details when you start a subscription. It receives nothing at all if you only use the free preview. LaneBatch never sees or stores a card number.

  • Microsoft Clarity

Product analytics, loaded only after you have consented, and only if the site has been configured with a Clarity project. In the EU and EEA the tag is not placed at all until you press Accept: it is the tag that is withheld, not just the consent signal, because Clarity collects basic interactions with or without a cookie.

  • Resend

Carries one kind of message and only from the server: an alert to the founder when the pricing or export code throws. That alert contains the error and whether the run was sample data. It does not contain your file, your lanes, your rates or your email address.

  • Google Analytics

Which pages were viewed, and the ordinary things a page view carries: an approximate location from your IP address, your browser and device, and the page you arrived from. It is loaded on the same terms as Clarity, which depend on where you are: in the EU and EEA nothing is placed until you press Accept, and everywhere else analytics are granted when the page loads and no banner is shown. Either way it sets its own cookies once it is loaded, and either way you can switch it off on this page. It never receives your file, your lanes or your rates.

  • Google Fonts

The two typefaces are self-hosted by the build, so loading a page here fetches no font from Google. This is a separate matter from Google Analytics above, which your browser does contact once you have accepted analytics.

There is nothing else. No advertising pixel, no data broker, no email tracking on this site, and no third-party rate feed, which is also why the pricing can only ever use numbers you supplied.

What is stored about you

If you subscribe, Stripe holds your customer record and LaneBatch sets one cookie, named entitlement, which is a signed token saying that a subscription is active. It expires twelve hours after it is issued and is re-checked against Stripe. It carries your email address and Stripe customer id and nothing else.

One further value, cookie_consent, records the analytics answer in your browser so it can be honoured on the next page. In the EU and EEA it is written when you answer the banner. Everywhere else it is written on the first page load, recording that analytics were granted by region, which is why a visitor outside the EEA never sees a banner. If the recorded answer is an acceptance, Google Analytics then sets its own cookies as well, and Clarity sets its own where a Clarity project is configured. If it is a decline, no tag is loaded, so none of them sets anything.

There are no user accounts on LaneBatch. There is no password, no profile and no saved history of your sheets, because there is no database holding any of it.

Your rights

If you are in the UK or the EU, you can ask for a copy of what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, by emailing the address at the top of this page. In practice that means your Stripe customer record, since the product itself keeps nothing. Deleting a subscription record ends the subscription.

You can turn analytics off at any time, right here, and the button below does it in this browser straight away. It is worth being plain about why the button exists rather than only telling you to clear your browser storage: clearing storage returns you to the unasked state, and outside the EU and EEA the unasked state is granted, so the tags would be back on the next page load. That is a reset, not a withdrawal. The button records a decline, which survives a reload.
